For a while, I had this image that trauma coaching is for people with social problems only. Or that, at least, they are the ones who accept it because, well, they are in deep waters.
But what about the people who have the biggest influence on people but act from a place of pain, proving a point, pushing agendas to serve their pain instead of purpose, and the people they should serve?
๐ What happens when politicians make policies from a place of hurt?
๐ What happens when police officers do their jobs from a place of hurt or hate?
๐ What happens when teachers go to work carrying their pain and get triggered by the children or students they work with?
๐ What happens when business leaders do business from a place of hurt, pain, feeling they are not good enough, and compensate with doing (working long hours while neglecting their families and losing their marriages) – day in, day out?
When those things happen, and they happen as we speak, we get to have and experience more pain in the world. Because pain generates pain.
So, is there a need for trauma coaching in business? OH YES!
If there is a place where people need healing, that’s business. Because almost no one talks about trauma in business. It’s buried deep into buzziness, appearances, and money.
But it hurts as much as it hurts the people who struggle, and we know them as “social”. The only difference is that some struggle visibly, while some struggle when all the lights go out.
My heart is for hurt people like me. The ones that struggle in silence, hiding their pain in work and overcompensating for the pain every day, at work, and home.
I am a change-maker. And the place I need to generate the most change is in business. Talking about trauma and addressing it in business will change not just one life but millions of lives.
Because when the people who have the biggest influence on the world heal, the world heals with them.
Yours,
Cristina
